Uncle Sam’s Brisket 🐄

INGREDIENTS
3 lb brisket 🥩 
1 large onion, sliced into thin rings 🧅
4 tbsp butter 🧈 
Garlic salt
Fresh ground pepper
DIRECTIONS
- NIGHT BEFORE: Heavily coat brisket in garlic salt and pepper, rubbing into meat. Wrap and let stand overnight in the refrigerator (or around 2 hours at room temp). 
- Set oven to 275º 
- Heat large, lidded (oven-safe) pan or Dutch oven on medium high and melt better 
- Sauté several onion rings to flavor butter 
- Turn heat to high and sear meat on all sides 
- Remove from heat, top with remaining onion rings, place lid on pan 
- Bake for 4 hours 
- Rest at least one hour before slicing
